What are some of the things industry manufacturers should consider regarding plant hygiene and cleanliness?

Dirt, bacteria, and viruses carried into a plant from outside environments. These are a particular risk in food and pharmaceutical plants. Dust is another hazard, particularly in automotive painting facilities. Hand washing and boot/shoe washing can go a long way in reducing these risks, and JETI has advanced automated solutions for both.

What significant regulatory issues are producers facing in EU, NA, and beyond?

Food safety is one of the greatest issues facing manufacturers today. Others include workplace cleanliness and worker safety. In particular, governments everywhere are passing new rules and regulations to help protect the public from injury caused by poor food processing and food handling practices. At JETI, we can help companies in food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as automotive, mining, and other industries meet and exceed required hygienic and cleanliness standards in their production processes.

What is the cleaning efficiency of JETI machines?

The counter rotating, self-cleaning brushes remove over 90 percent of contaminants both with and without the use of a disinfectant. However, disinfectants should be used in cases where pathogens are a concern. Difficult-to-clean soils such as flour, oil, etc., can be removed by combining dry brushing, disinfectants, and water flushing.

When using a disinfectant, how do you prevent it from getting onto the floor?

The amount of disinfectant used can be precisely controlled so shoe soles are left damp but not wet.

How long does it take to achieve optimum cleaning?

BASIC and Professional models take only seven seconds. With Upfloor and Infloor models, each foot has to come in contact with the brush surface at least once.

Can the machines clean the sides of shoes and boots?

Our machines are designed to focus on the soles of shoe and boots where most contaminants are concentrated.

Is it possible to use the machine with high heels?

Not if the heels can fall between the brush slots.

How many people can the machines handle in a 20-minute shift?

BASIC and Professional models are designed for single use and can handle about 17 people in a 20-minute shift. Upfloor and Infloor units, on the other hand, can handle about 167 people in that time.

Are the brush belts safe to touch?

Not if they’re running. Clothing should also be kept clear.

Are JETI machines self cleaning?

Yes. Underneath the machine is a cleaning brush that ensures full transfer of dirt from the floor into the collection pan. An anti-static brush option is available in cases where static electricity is a problem. Catch pans in BASIC, Infloor, and Upfloor models have a pullout drawer that should be vacuumed periodically. Catch pans in Professional and disinfection models are removable for pressure washing. In wet (disinfection) applications, dirt is flushed down the floor drain.

Are floor drains needed for JETI dry application units?

Not necessarily. But in applications where moist contaminants may enter the facility (e.g., rain, snow, dirt, etc.,) we recommend the installation of a floor drain, which is also very useful for washdowns.

Does the machine remove snow, moisture and humidity along with dirt?

What is the cleaning efficiency of the JETIcleaner machine compared to an efficient doormat?

Above 90 percent, which is much higher than an efficient doormat.

Can shoe sole cleaning machines be used in conjunction with the JETI Airshower?

Can shoe sole cleaning machines be used in conjunction with a hand wash station?

Yes, and doing so can reduce overall cleaning time compared to placing the two units in separate locations.

Are the machines available in a 115V version?

Both Basic and Professional models are available in 115V.

How are the machines started?

Either automatically by a motion detector, or manually by a hand or foot switch.

Can the machines be used outdoors?

Yes, but they should be shielded from the elements (rain, snow, wind, etc.).

How long do belt brushes last before having to be changed?

An average of four years in wet conditions, and six years in dry conditions.

How can the machines be cleaned?

JETI machines are IP65 stainless steel designed to be pressure washed. Dry machines should be washed every six to 12 months; wet and sensitive-application machines involving food and pharmaceuticals should be washed weekly. Pressure washing can also clean difficult and sticky materials such as flour and oil.

What factory warranty does JETI offer?

All our units come with a two-year warranty, which can be extended by another two years with a maintenance service contract (minimum six-month cycle).

Where are JETI machines built?

In Germany.

How noisy are the machines?

55 dBA at a distance of 1m (3 ft).

Can JETI units be used to clean forklift and pallet jack tires?

Yes, but only the Infloor model—standard Infloor units can handle up to 500kg (1,100 lbs), and reinforced Infloor machines can handle up to 3,000 kg (6,600 lbs). Units can be custom designed to meet specific needs.
